Two German courts now hold Google liable for what its AI overviews say

AI summary

Google tried to overturn a landmark Munich ruling on AI search liability by appealing, then quietly settled. The strategy isn't working. Why it was chosen
Two German court rulings treat AI search summaries as Google's own statements, setting out where the legal line on liability for AI search content falls.

A model scores each item twice, independently, against one written standard, out of 100. An item is admitted only when the two scores add up to twice the threshold. The threshold is set per source tier.
