Terms of use

News is part of Assay Notes. It collects AI news from public sources, has a model write titles and summaries in Chinese, Japanese and English (the English edition of an English source keeps the original), and selects items against a written standard. Each original belongs to its source. The website, RSS, the public API and MCP can all be used anonymously.

What this site does

News reads a fixed set of public sources on a schedule. A model first pre-filters each item, then scores it twice, independently, against one standard; an item is selected only when the two scores add up to twice the threshold. The threshold is set per source tier. Each selected item's two scores and threshold are shown in its selection record. When several reports cover one event, the site groups them into one event.

Content and copyright

Titles, summaries, reasons and the daily brief's lead are written by a model from public sources. They can be wrong and can drop the original's qualifications. Check the original for anything important; every item links to it.

Each original belongs to its source. By default the site shows only a summary and a link to the original. Only where a source allows it does an item page show the full text and its Chinese translation, and the full-text RSS carry the text. Short social posts are shown together with the post's own words.

Corrections and takedowns for sources

If you are a source and want something corrected, taken down or shown differently, write the article's link and your request on the feedback page. We will act on it as soon as we can.

Using this site's content

These uses need no prior contact: personal reading, study and research; quoting a few titles or summaries, naming "News" and linking the original.

For these uses, contact us first on the feedback page and wait for consent: use in a commercial product or service; bulk republishing or redistribution; training or evaluating models on this site's content.

RSS, API and MCP

These interfaces are anonymous and read-only. Fetch according to the cache times in the responses. On a 429, wait as Retry-After says and do not retry in parallel. Clients that send too many requests may be limited.
